Dan Madson is the Founder and Principal of Skrive Publications. Skrive offers professional copy editing, proofreading and publishing services. To say he's had an unusual career arc would be an understatement.

Dan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a major in education and minors in history and physical education. From 1982-2002 Dan was a classroom teacher and coach at a private school in Madison, Wisconsin. He taught English, creative writing and literature among other subjects. He also served as athletic director and coached several sports.

After stepping away from his duties as teacher and coach, Dan spent the next five years competing in the sport of triathlon. He completed 35 races over that time including two Ironman distance events. His crowning achievement in the sport was being named the Ford Ironman Every Day Hero at the 2005 Ironman Wisconsin event.

Following his love for fitness, Dan and two business partners opened and operated three neighborhood gyms in the Madison area from 2007-2011. He handled day-to-day operations and customer relations.
From 2012-2017 Dan was one of three general partners that formed a venture capital group to shepherd a portfolio of tech companies from start-up to exit. Dan was in charge of corporate communications and investor relations.
Since 2000, in addition to his other business activties, Dan has been traveling and helping his wife in her role as an independent National Sales Director with a multi-billion dollar international direct sales company.
Dan has been married to Lisa for 40 years. They have three married children and seven beautiful grandchildren.
Dan lives in Miramar Beach, Florida, on the beautiful Emerald Coast. In addition to his passion for writing, he loves to read, run, play golf, ride bikes, cook, make cocktails, and travel the world with his wife.
